About the Artist:

In the early 1980s, Donna studied oil painting for a brief period, but was a full time teacher with little time for a hobby. After retirement from her career as a teacher & administrator in public education in 2001, she began to study art locally in Maine.

She often composes images from memories of places where she has gathered a few reference photographs, but also enjoys painting from dreamed images. Her art and poetry have been published in The Café Review, the Goose River Anthology, and the Wolf Moon Journal.

For the past few years, Donna has been experimenting with monoprints developed from using watercolor, ink, and other media to print from linocuts, while studying linocut and intaglio printmaking at Colby College. She also recently completed a series of Belgrade Lakes pen & ink watercolor studies.

Donna's art is available during the summer season at the Lazy Lab Cafe and the Artists & Artisans Shop in Belgrade Lakes. It is also carried year-round at The Corner in Mt.
